WHO Rushes To Fill Global Demand For Medical Masks

Health and Wellness Minister, Dr. Christopher Tufton, says the World Health Organization, WHO, is reviewing measures to meet the global demand for medical masks.

This, as he says Jamaica doesn’t currently have that type of medical mask in stock.

The Health and Wellness Minister says given the risk, the government’s placing emphasis on border protection and preparedness of frontline workers.

Dr Christopher Tufton, Minister of Health and Wellness, speaking yesterday at the Ministry’s New Kingston office.

He says 50 senior nursing managers and 50 physicians from the public health sector from across the island have been sensitized.

And, he says another 50 clinicians from the private sector and members of various professional health groups have also been sensitized.
