Tory Lanez Drops “Chixtape 5” Tracklist Featuring T-Pain & More

Canadian rapper Tory Lanez reveals the tracklist for his new project, Chixtape 5, which is set to drop November 15, 2019.

The work that Tory Lanez has been putting in the work to promote the mixtape is truly phenomenal. The rapper has been posting about the mixtape non-stop since the middle of October. He spoke about a few tracks back in December 2018 that he seemed pretty excited. One of the standout tracks was one that sampled T-Pain’s 2005 megahit, “I’m Sprung.” It seems The Pain rathered a more direct involvement in the track titled “Jerry Sprunger” and is instead being officially featured on the project. Was it the right choice?

The project has this nostalgic vibe to it, taking samples from the late ’90s to the early ‘2000s. Maybe one of the most iconic features is having Ashanti pose for the cover of the mixtape. For the younger generation, the cover may remind you of Summer Walker’s recent release, Over It. More mature folks should be dragged all the way back to the 2000s with the release of the movie Belly. It captures Ashanti posing elegantly and effortlessly with a sidekick in hand.

He even tweeted to ask fans, “Can y’all guess what samples are on #Chixtape5?”

He recently released the tracklist for the project, and if the names of the songs are anything to work from, one could guess a few of the samples. ” The Trade” could be a sample of “Trade It All” by Fab. featuring Diddy and jagged Edge, and “A Fools Tale (Running Back)” could be from “Pullin’ Me Back ” by Chingy Ft. Tyrese.

Peep the full list below and see if you can guess a few of the samples.
