Three Illegal Weapons Seized during Joint Military Operation in Spanish Town

The Security Forces have  recovered three illegal weapons, after gunmen shot at a police/military team in Spanish Town, St Catherine yesterday.

In a statement from the Jamaica Defense Force, the Security forces say the weapons were found shortly after 10 AM, during a joint police military operation.

The joint Police/Military team approached four armed men who opened fire on them.

The patrol team returned fire and the men ran.

One FR sniper rifle, a Smith & Wesson pistol, one 9 millimeter Browning pistol, one FR sniper rifle magazine, two 9 millimeter magazines, thirty-six 5-point- 5-6 millimeter  live rounds and twenty- four 9 millimeter live rounds were recovered.

Three persons were detained in connection with the find.
