A man who was said to be of an unsound mind was shot and killed by unknown assailants in his community in Trelawny on Friday night.
The deceased has been identified as Jason Graham who hailed from the Race Course community in the parish capital, Falmouth.
While investigators probe the development, a recent incident which reportedly involved the now deceased man, will likely come up for contemplation.
Reports are that at about 9.30 pm, residents heard gunshots and summoned the police to a section of Race Course.
On their arrival, the police saw Graham suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
About two weeks earlier, Graham was taken into police custody after he was accused of breaking into a house in his community, where he reportedly attempted to sexually assault a female.
He was subsequently released after the complainant failed to formally identify him.
The killing on Friday is being investigated by detectives from the Falmouth Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
